Course number : 7586
« back to classes page

Ride into the past on a 19th Century Steam Train through the enormous Redwoods to the summit of Bear Mountain. Listen as the conductors narrate the history of Roaring Camp, the giant Redwoods and the forest. In the 1880's, narrow gauge steam locomotives were used to hall giant redwood logs out of the mountains. Roaring Camp steam engines date from 1890 and are all preserved. Afterward, enjoy a delicious BBQ mini-combo platter lunch among the trees. There will be time to see the park-like setting and vintage buildings at Roaring Camp. Register by August 31; call for availability after that date.
