If you’ve ever wanted to learn to draw, or perhaps have done some drawing in the past, but are rusty, this is a great place to start. Gain a basic understanding of the principles of drawing, discover materials and techniques and get tips on how to continue to improve your drawing skills. A series of exercises will open up your visual understanding of the world around you and help get your ideas onto paper! Please read:  Students must supply materials listed on confirmation and website: Scroll down to bottom of the page on the left hand side under ‘Quick Links’ and click on ‘Material Lists’ or click the link entitled, LINK HERE, located in the course description. | *Students will be given 1/2 hour for a lunch break. ________________________________________________________ Materials Required: (Michaels, Aaron Brothers, or Academy Art will have all the materials, or you can order them online): – Strathmore 400 Series Drawing Pad (or similar), 12"x18" – Derwent artists pencils (or similar), at least 3 pencils with 2H, HB, 4B hardness. As an example, the Derwent Academy Sketching Pencils tin has 12 pencils of varying hardness and is perfectly suited for all types of drawing. – Kneaded rubber eraser – Pink Pearl artists eraser (or similar) – 12" ruler (any type) – Feel free to bring in any other monochrome drawing material you'd like to use or experiment with, such as charcoal or conté crayons. - Woodless graphite pencil - This is a solid graphite pencil wrapped with a plastic coating.
