Spring Arrivals and “Birding by Ear”

Course number : 6580
« back to classes page

Spring is a wonderful time to learn about birds because so many are arriving back to the foothills after being gone for the winter. Sights and sounds abound! Male birds are brightly-colored in their breeding plumage, and they’re singing to attract a mate and establish their territory. This class introduces you to identifying birds “by sight” and “by ear.” An optional morning field trip sponsored by Sierra Foothills Audubon will be led by the instructor the Saturday following the class. Materials: $35 optional at class for book.
