Spend the day aboard the USS Hornet! This aircraft carrier is a national treasure, having participated in two of the greatest events of the 20th century – World War II and the Apollo 11 manned space mission. In 1988, the ship was opened to the public as a museum moored at the former Naval Air Station Alameda on San Francisco Bay. A registered State and National Historic Landmark, the USS Hornet Museum is a timeless memorial to those who defended our American values and pursued America’s technological advancements. Lunch is served in the Officers’ Mess Hall. Menu is baked chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed vegetables, rolls and a cookie.
